Indonesia Latin America and The Caribbean (INA-LAC) Business Forum 2021 Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Jakarta, 14 - 15 October 2021

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) the Republic of Indonesia organized Indonesia Latin America and The Caribbean (INA-LAC) Business Forum at The Westin Jakarta and at Nusantara Room, The Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Secretariat in a hybrid manner. The INA-LAC Business Forum was opened virtually by the Minister of Foreign Affairs the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, S.H., LL.M., the Minister of Trade the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Agus Suparmanto, S.E., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala H.E. P. Brolo Vila, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Brazil H.E. Márcia Donner Abreu. The forum was attended virtually by more than 500 entrepreneurs from various industries from Indonesia as well as countries from the Latin America and Caribbean region. This forum has become a bridge for economic cooperations between Indonesia-Latin America and countries in the Caribbean to discuss about the establishment of an INA-LAC Business Network. Three elements were emphasized in this forum e.g. (a) Strengthening Business Interactions Through a Digital Platform Created by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (b) Extending the Cooperation in The Creative, Digital Economy, and Connectivity Industries, and (c) Building Partnerships in the Development of a Low-Carbon Green Economy through Technology.


Southeast Asia Internet Governance Forum (SEA IGF) 2021

Nusa Dua, Bali, 1 - 2 September 2021

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkominfo) organized the Southeast Asia Internet Governance Forum (SEA IGF), a regional forum that uses a multi-stakeholder approach in order to understand the perspectives of each stakeholder. This forum was held in a hybrid manner at Bali International Convention Centre, Nusa Dua by implementing a strict Covid-19 health protocol. This forum was officially opened by the UN Secretary for Internet Governance Forum H.E. Chengetai Masango, who conveyed his opening remarks, together with Minister of Kemenkominfo the Republic of Indonesian H.E. Johnny G. Plate, as a keynote speaker at this forum, and the Governor of Bali Province Mr. I Wayan Koster, who gave his welcoming speech. Focused on the topic "Digital Transformation in Southeast Asia", the forum discussed issues that can be comprehensive solutions for internet governance. There were three sub-topics including (a) ICT Infrastructure and Cyber Security, (b) Digital Right and Society, and (c) Youth and Innovation Development. Over 300 participants from 43 countries joined the meeting onsite as well as virtually. More than 80 excellent speakers from various backgrounds presented their presentation that related to communication and information technology at this forum such as the Director General of Informatics Applications of the Kemenkominfo Mr. Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, Chairman of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association Mr. Bima Laga, and Informatics Technology (IT) Expert Mr. Onno W. Purbo.


National Archives Coordinator Meeting for The Celebration of The 50th Archives Day 2021

In commemoration of the 50th Archives Day, the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) held a National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) at Santika Premiere Hayam Wuruk in a hybrid manner. The meeting was attended by participants representing various institutions such as Central Government, Regional Government, State-Owned Enterprises, Universities, and Archival Communities in Indonesia. Acting Head of ANRI Dr. Muhammad Taufik, M.Si. said that it was a golden momentum for the Archives Sector to continue and move forward together to support electronic-based government programs in accordance with the topic of the 50th Archives Day "Golden Year of Archives: Uniting Steps to Realize Digital Archives". Several experts shared their experience and knowledge during the meeting including speakers from the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo), and the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) the Republic of Indonesia. A fabulous awarding night was held at ANRI’s Building Gajah Mada Jakarta on the last day enlivened by the famous Indonesian jazz music group Maliq and D’Essentials. The awarding night was attended by 150 invitees and representatives from various institutions among others the Minister of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, M.Sc., The Acting Head of ANRI Dr. Muhammad Taufik, M.Si., The Governor of Riau Province Mr. Drs. H. Syamsuar, M.Si., The Head of State Administration Agency (LAN) Dr. Adi Suryanto, The Head of Food and Drug Authority Dr. Ir. Penny K. Lukit, The Special Advisors to the Minister of The State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reforms (PANRB) the Republic of Indonesia for Anti-Corruption Mr. Rakhmad Setyadi, and The Special Advisors to the Minister of The State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reforms (PANRB) the Republic of Indonesia for Handling Radicalism Mr. Tony Surya Putra.
